Fiber, UV or CO₂: choosing a marking process

Start with the material and the required result before comparing power ratings.

Start with a representative part

Material composition, coatings, surface finish, part geometry and the required contrast all affect the choice. A sample test is more informative than a comparison of wattage alone.

Fiber marking

The configured fiber range uses a 1064 nm wavelength and is intended for metals, coated surfaces and selected engineered polymers. Compare 30W, 60W and 100W MOPA options with the 50W Q-switched sources, then confirm the process on your part.

UV marking

The 355 nm UV range provides an alternative for fine marking of suitable plastics, glass and ceramics. Source power, repetition rate, cooling and material response still require model-specific validation.

CO₂ marking

The 10.6 μm CO₂ range is intended for suitable non-metals such as wood, paper, leather and acrylic. Supply the exact material specification, especially for composite or coated products.
